Week 16 Game Summary: I got a new toy this week - a voice recording watch. It worked much, much better than the little recorder I was carrying around the first few weeks. Still had a couple problems at first but I think this will do the trick nicely.

3-Goal from the 5: Pass by Cain to Adam - incomplete. The play was "Juan's Option" where the QB runs one way with a RB behind him and the tight end from the other side dragging in the same direction. Zieser made a very nice two-handed defense of the pass.

1-1 from the 24: Pass by Nick to Louis - incomplete. Long pass down the left sideline to Louis but overthrown. The person who got closest to it was Zieser who flat out dove for it. Hell of an effort but no chance to make a catch.
2-1 from the 24: Run by Nick for 17 yards - stopped by Adam. Nick sent everybody long and then ran for the 1st down. Play was called dead after 17 yards for a stiff-arm to the middle of Adam's forearm.

1-9 from the 34: Pass by Nick to Paul - incomplete. Trips play with a little throw to Paul underneath but a bit high.
2-9 from the 34: Pass by Nick to Zieser - incomplete. Brandon tipped the ball to cause the incompletion.
3-9 from the 34: Pass by Nick to Paul - incomplete. Long pass down the right sideline into the endzone but Adam played low and stuck is hand up between Paul's right as the ball got there.

Nick and Paul were on different pages as to the direction of the pitch but Nick was able to make it work. Then Paul took it up the field and made 3 people miss him before Ty made the stop and saved a touchdown. The hallmark of the play may have been Adam coming across the field to try to make the stop and running over Kyler (his own teamate who was on the defensive line) to try to make a play.
2-8 from the 33: Pass by Nick to Unknown - incomplete. Very nearly a sack by Ty - one of those "at the same time" kinds of things.

The play was initially supposed to be an option run with Chenault to the left but coverage was good so Nick kept it and scrambled right with 3 members of his line in front of him. Adam crashed the line pushing blockers back towards Nick who threw the ball up for Chenault who had run a short cross to try to get into the play to block or to be an underneath dump off.

Yellow made the case that their Defense should get the MPV this week. It was a good performance but I need to see the stats first.

Week 17 Preview: Well the holidays are over and we're getting good turn out again. So I'd ask everyone to hold off on inviting additional players for a couple weeks until we see where we end up in terms of attendance. I think most people would rather not have games of more than 18 because people spend more than half their time on the offensive line. People who have been playing with us are welcome to keep coming out and its likely that we'll want to get a few new players later this year if we lose some folks due to conflicts, moving away, or (hopefully not) injuries. So keep people in mind.

However, if we could find some more good, dependable quarterbacks, we could run 2 games of 6 on 6 for 90 minutes and then switch the opponents with the winning teams playing each other for the next 90 minutes (and the other two teams playing each other too). I think a mini-tournament would be cool but we need QBs to make it work.
