That's game: 4 - 3, Yellow. Worth noting is that this is the 1st game that Yellow has won all year no matter who was on the team. Someone told me earlier this year that they thought Yellow had won one game but I can't find record of it. In any case, the curse of the yellow flags is broken.

Not a bad day for the QBs. Nick completed 43.48% of his passes with only 2 picks. Cain only completed 33.33% of his but he did have to suffer through 4 drops and a couple miscommunications with receivers - take out the drops and he'd have completed over 40% as well. Good numbers for both considering how windy and cold it was.

Ray and Jesse were leading receivers and had remarkably similar stats: 6 catches for 3 first downs and a TD with Ray getting 122 yards and Jesse getting 127 yards. Cain and Nick kept the ground game alive with Cain getting 144 yards for a TD and 3 first downs on 12 carries and Nick picking up 4 first downs on his 10 carries totaling 70 yards.

This was a big defensive game. There were 21 defensed passes. Jesse, Treadaway, Josh, and Zieser each had 3. Day, Adam and RChin each got 2. In fact, 10 of 15 players had at least on defensed pass. I think Josh got all his on the rush. Mark was sack leader with 4! Jesse led with 2 picks - one a pick-six.

MVP goes to Jesse - the only player to score both on offense and defense.

Big games usually mean low yards and that was certainly the case this week where our first 9 on 9 game in over a month resulted in only 437 passing yards total for both teams. However, Street did manage to post a greater than 55% completion percentage.

Red had defensed 12 passes and Yellow had 11. Red and Yellow each had 3 picks. However, Red got more sacks and QB pressures than Yellow and that was probably the difference. Mark was teh week's sack king with 3. He also had a defensed pass and a QB pressure. Anthony was INT-king as the only player with 2 but Barry had 4 defensed passes. Awards:

MVP this week goes to Anthony who had a rock solid day on both offense and defense.

Offensive Player of the Game goes to RChin who was second leading receiver and was always fighting for more yardage.

Defensive Player of the game goes to Mark for several reasons. While Curtis, Adam, and Cain, and Chenault all helped keep the pressure on and combine for 8 sacks and 4 QB pressures, Mark also made a number of very key stops where the ball would be thrown on his side of the field and he'd turn back and go up to get the flag - this wasn't just on plays where he was dropping into the flats. There were several plays where I saw him behind the line of scrimmage and turning back to make a play. Nice hustle which definitely saved some yards.

Wind played havok with the ball today with both QB's having completions in the mid-30s. There was also a lot of pressure with each beign sacked 5 times and experiencing numerous QB pressures. Blitzing nearly very down makes it much harder for QBs.

No 100 yard games today thought BRandon came close with 95. Mark had the most grabs with 7 for 80 yards. He was also a bit possession receiver with 4 going for first downs. Treadaway and Street were the only 2 TD players this week.

Awards:

MVP - this week, I'm giving it to Treadaway. Every week, he seems to do nothing to show up and make plays. Not the fastest player (by far), not the strongest (again, by far) but this game shows his value. Throw him the ball he catches it and gets yards. Give him a chance to score and he gets 2 TDs (including the game winner). Let him play safety and he gets picks and defensed passes. I noticed a number of times when he also mades a really good stops like after a pick. Sure a stiff-arm to the throat will put him on the ground but no one's perfect. Nice game Treadaway.

Offensive Player of the Week - This goes to Brandon with 6 catches on 9 targets where 5 were for 1st downs (of the other 3 targets, one was a bad throw due to pressure and one was picked).

Defensive Player of the Week - Adam - Adam did a little bit of everything and had a role in 10 of 36 pass attempts being incomplete.

Observation of the Week - There was a lot more fighting for the ball. We had 2 balls ripped free at the point of the catch and others where players were fighting through simultaneous possession to get the ball. Very nice.
