Week 19 Game Summary - Had problems with the recorder because I couldn't read the control lights in the sunlight but think I have an answer for next week. This week's game summary was by memory so here it is:

Another giant game - too many players for one game, but not enough to split into 2 games. The hallmark of the game was interceptions. I'm pretty sure that there were 8-10 picks - like 4-5 per side. As you can imagine this meant a low scoring affair and the final score was 2-1.

MVP was Louis who had 3 of the picks and I believe 2 of them were when Red was in scoring position and moving the ball well.

We also had a new guy show up - Rodney. Turns out that if you enter "AustinFlagFootball" in Google, this blog pops up at the top of the list so he found us that way. Rodney indicated that he had 3 other teams he was part of and suggested bringing them out sometime. We could have 2 games going for 90 minutes and the winners play each other like a little tournament. We'll see what comes of it. Could be fun. What I don't want to happen at this time, however is that we end up with another 6 semi-regular guys. 10 on 10 games are already too big so I'd prefer to keep the guys we have for a while and only add new ones as we loose regular attendance due to injury, interest, or other commitments.

Week 20 Preview: Superbowl weekend. Nothing better than a weekend that starts by playing a great game and ends by watching a great game. That was certainly the case 2 weeks ago when 9 of us braved the cold for a really fun game and then Sunday night had the Patriots & Colts playing one for the ages (at least the second half was). Hopefully this weekend will be similar (though I'd rather get 16 guys or so rather than 9).
