Week 33 Game Summary:

Funny how the weather starts ugly and yet we start playing 10 minutes earlier than we have in all of 2009. Not only that but the weather turned out to be GREAT. It stopped raining just before we started playing and the sun was coming out an hour later. If you stayed home due to weather, you missed a good one for no reason.

Game was 6 on 6 - wind was not a factor worth tracking this week.

Yellow Drive #1
1-12 from the 8: Pass by Canadian to Paul - 72 yard gain and the TD. Key block by Adam. Paul ran a straight fly getting the ball at the 25 and Adam came over on a slant to block the safety after the catch and then Paul was gone. 1 - 0, Yellow.

Very nice passing games today. The soft field definitely hurt the pass rush and the QBs were able to advantage throwing for nearly 800 yards and completing nearly 45% of all passes thrown. Nick led with a 49.09% completion rate but Canadian came off the bench and had a big game completing 44.44% of his passes for over 400 yards and 7 TDs. If you take away the pick that Adam caused, Canadian would have had a passer rating over 107.

3 receivers with over 100 yards with BB, Treadaway and Paul all going into triple digits but Paul was clearly the leader with 8 catches for 241 yards and 4 TDs. BB was next with 123 yards and Treadaway had 104 yards and 2 TDs. Pretty much everyone got in the action today. Some of the other noteworthy games were turned in by Adam with 94 yards and a TD, Matta with 79 yards and 2 TDs, and Zieser with 47 yards on 2 catches but both for TDs. Also, did anyone notice all the RUNNING PLAYS BY NON-QBs? Been a long time since we've seen that.

The field conditions certainly hurt the defense. There were only 5 sacks in the game with Rob and Gary each getting 2 and Matta getting one. Other QB pressures were relatively light as well with Nick and Chenault each having 2. Hillis, BB, and Charles each had 2 defensed passes and a pick. Adam had 4 defensed passes.

Awards:
MVP - When you have three players each with over 100 yards and the top player more than doubled the next two, that shows you something. Did I mention that he touched the ball 8 times and had 4 TDs and 3 first downs?

Offensive Player of the Game - Canadian hasn't played nearly as much QB this year as he has in years past. I think this is only the 2nd or 3rd game all year he's thrown but he had a terrific game at QB as I noted above.

Defensive Player of the Game - This was harder this week because we had 3 players with similar stats (2 defensed passes and 1 pick). I'm giving the award to Charles this week because he had the best pick and more flags.
