Great day for QBs even if we did have 11 (count them, 11!) interceptions. Canadian passed for 376 yards, 3 TDs and had a 45.24% completion rate! The only problem he had this week was that Nick passed for 439 yards, 6 TDs and had a 47.27% completion rate (each QB also had 1 pass dropped).

This was really a hard luck week for Red. Red had 3 receivers with over 100 yards - led by David with 157 and followed by Jesse and Ethan with 105 and 102, respectively. A team with three 100 yard receivers in our game should mean a win. David led with 2 TDs and Jesse had the other one. Ethan was the go-to guy for Red with 9 catches on 13 targets and 2 rushes.

Yellow didn't have 3 hundred yard players but Curtis had 2 TDs and 96 yards. Brandon and Day each at a TD as well. But it was Adam who had the biggest day with 221 yards and 2 TDs. 10 Receptions on 15 targets and only one drop (long time since that's happened). Game of the Elders.

If you read the play-by-play, you know who played big this week on defense. Barry had 5 picks (one ill-advised, admitedly) and 3 defensed passes along with 2 flags. Hell of a defensive game - one of the best ever. Nick and Jimmy each had a pick as well and Jimmy had 6 flags and a defensed pass. Curtis had 2 defensed passes. Brandon came up with a defensed pass and 6 flags. Adam's 6 flags are worth a bit more considering he mostly played linebacker and thus was not in direct coverage much.

For Yellow, David's game was nearly as big as Barry's: 6 flags, 4 defensed passes, and 3 picks. Ethan also had a defensed pass and a sack. Jessy had a defnesed pass and a pick. Canadian's 8 flags and 2 passes defensed were also big.

MVP: This was a lot harder than you might think. Nick may have been chanting "MVP" for Adam all game but look at what we had in this game: three 100 yard receivers for the same team, a defender with 5 picks, 2 QBs combining for over 800 yards of offense. Seriously, I don't think we've ever had the number of exceptional individual performances in one game before.

I had to go back to transciption and look at how the big plays impacted the game. Three of Barry's picks were made when Red was inside the 20, threatening to score. If you take away those three picks, Red might have scored several more times - probably not 3 times but it is a factor.

Meanwhile, nearly all of Adam's yards came on drives that resulted in scores. He had 10 catches and 5 of them were for 1st downs and 2 were for TDs.

I've said that the MVP should go to the player (or players) who had the most dominant game (and preferably a balanced game with strong offense and defense). This week, I'm going to award the MVP to Adam.
