Week 26 Game Summary:

Game was 7 on 7 for most of it until it dropped to 6 on 6 due to injury at 11:00.

Because the wind was such a factor in this game (routinely blowing towards McNeil drive at 20 MPH with gusts up to 30 MPH), I tracked the drive directions. I have been meaning to start doing that and changing field after 2 drives each makes it easier to track. Yellow starts against the very stiff wind.

Rick adjusts but so does Jesse. Jesse gets his hands on the ball and should have been able to defense the pass but Rick just holds on tight and won't let go. The come down in a heap and simultaneous possession goes to the receiver. Plays like this make me wish we had video to show "Best of" plays at the end of the season. 1 - 0, Yellow.

Ball was very low but Adam dug it up to control the pitch and then turned to block Jesse to spring Canadian for what looked like a QB. However, Jesse felt that he got the flag before Adam could get the ball off. This was tougher. RChin was on the sideline at this point and thought Adam got the ball off but he was on the wrong side of Adam to see exactly when Jesse got the flag. Since the flag didn't make the pop sound, Adam couldn't be sure if he got the ball off. Jesse himself wasn't positive that the flag was prior to the pitch he said he got the flag really fast. Interestingly, had Adam not "possessed" the ball and instead just did a volleyball-like "set" back to Canadian, the flag wouldn't have mattered. Play ruled dead at the spot of the initial catch.

The wind clearly played havok with both QBs today with low to mid 30s completion percentages and low yardage.

Canadian was the leading receiver with 101 yards for a TD and 3 first downs on his 5 catches. Jesse was next with 79 yards good for 3 first downs and Anthony had 69 yards good for 2 first downs (and, but for a spectacular flag by Paul, nearly a TD).

6 Picks in the game With Anthony and Rick each getting one. Paul and Canadian each had a pick and a defensed pass. Jesse and Adam each had a Pick-Six and a defensed pass and Adam also had 2 sacks and 2.5 QB pressures. Speaking of pressure, RChin and Chenault also had 2 sacks with .5 and 1.5 QB pressures, respectively. Carlos had a sack and 2.5 pressures and Jeff got a sack and a pass defensed while rushing. Day and Treadaway each had a sack and Day had a pressure and Treadaway had a half pressure along with 3 defensed passes (the most on the day).

We used the new punt rules for the first time but it didn't make any difference because Red's two punts were with the wind and resulted in touchbacks.

MVP goes to Canadian this week (all good things come to those who wait.

Offensive Player of the Game is a bit tougher since there was so much wind but I'm giving it to Nick who made enough plays with his arm (other than that one bad one - Chenault? What don't we do? We don't throw against the body!).

Defensive Player of the Game goes to Adam who did a little bit of everything with a Pick-Six, defensed pass, sacks and pressures.
