2-5 from the 35: Run by Adam for 15 yards - stopped by Mark. Key block by Cain.
1-10 from the 30: Pass by Cain to Zieser. The play was intended to be a Cuba Libre but Zieser keeps it and takes it to the 15. At the 15, Mark makes diving grab and gets Zieser's belt and stops him but isn't able to get the flag. Adam comes over to pry Zieser free and Zieser decides to pitch the ball back 8 yards to Charles who finally shows what he can do with the ball in his hands: ZIIIIIIIIIP-TD. After seeing this, Street starts giving Charles a bigger cushion on the line. 1 - 1, Tie.

Yellow Drive #5
1-12 from the 8: Pass by Street to Mark - incomplete. Ball wide.
2-12 from the 8: Run by BB - stopped for loss by Max for a safety. Loss of 8 yards. Interesting misdirection run with Street and Mark running one way with BB coming back the other way behind the formation from the Slot position. 1.5 - 1, Red.

Yellow Drive #6

4-Goal from the 32: Pass by Mark to Street - defensed by Cain. Red is with the wind again.

Red Drive #10
1-8 from the 32: Pass by Cain to Adam - 48 yard gain and the TD. 2 over 1 under with Adam getting the ball on the under and taking it up the sideline. 4.5 - 3, Red.

Yellow Drive #10
1-12 from the 8: Pass by Street to Mark - incomplete. QB pressure by Adam. Ball wide.
2-12 from the 8: Pass by Street to Mark - dropped.
3-12 from the 8: Pass by Street to Mark - 22 yard gain - stopped by Adam and Biscuits.

Yellow Drive #11
1-12 from the 8: Pass by Street to Slumdog - incomplete. Ball wide.
2-12 from the 8: Street - sacked by Zieser. Loss of 7 yards.
3-19 from the 1: Pass by Street to Treadaway - defensed by Cain.
4-19 from the 1: Pass by Street to unknown - defensed by Adam. Oddest play and nearly a disaster. Street was in the process of throwing and Adam hit his arm (not the ball) from behind. The ball went up and forward slightlly. Street caught it and took off. Adam chased him down at the 19 but it was later decided that the play was an incomplete pass since Adam didn't touch the ball and therefore Street wasn't eligible to receive the ball.

Red Drive #12
1-Goal from the 1: Pass by Cain to Max - 1 yard gain and the TD.

That's game. 6.5 - 3, Red.

Passing Stats:
Players Comp Drops Attempts % Yards TDs INTs Sacked Yds Lost Rating
Cain 11 3 30 36.67% 190 5 2 1 -5 70.83
Mark 0 0 1 0.00% 0 0 0 0 0 39.58
Street 13 6 48 27.08% 168 3 0 4 -51 62.50

Both QBs had to suffer through some drops and Cain was 0 for 10 with a pick to start the game but considering the wind and the new guys who need to come out early next time and warm up their hands, they ended the game with reasonable numbers. Both QBs did a nice job trying to get the ball around and Cain managed to get 4 of his receivers a TD and the 5th got his on the ladder part of a H-n-L.

Receiving/Rushing Stats:
Players Recpts Targets Yards Rec TDs Rushes Yards Rush TDs Combined Blocks 1st Downs

Treadaway 7 14 103 2 0 0 0 103 0 4

Treadaway and Mark were the triple digit yardage leaders this week. Zieser had 98 and 2 TDs. Treadaway was the other 2 TD player this week.

Defensive Stats:

Street 0.5 1 2 0 0 0 0 0
Treadaway 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

Leading defenders were Adam, Street, and Cain though nearly everyone had a sack or a defensed pass. Mark must have been tired from rushing all time last week since he decided to play safety after a few series but he still managed a sack and a QB pressure in only like 3 series rushing.

Special Teams Stats:
Players Punts Punt Yards Punts Fielded
Cain 4 149 0
BB 0 0 1
Mark 1 40 0
Street 0 0 1

Awards:
MVP - Cain overcame a rough start at QB to put in descent if not spectacular final numbers. He also made plays when the ball was not in his hand like his block on Adam's run. On defense he had a nice sack and 3 defensed passes.

Offensive Player of the Game - Treadaway with 7 catches for 103 yards, 2 TDs, and 4 first downs.

Defensive Player of the Game - Tough call between Adam and Street. Technically Max had as many fantasy points but they came primarily due to the safety which is one play. Adam was certainly making Street's life difficult but I think that Street's defensive play was probably bigger. His first pick was on the first play and led immediately to a TD. His second gave Yellow a short field again and again resulted in a score. But for those plays, and the game might not have been close (which it was until Red's 10th Drive). So Street gets the award this week.

Did we really give up a TD on 5 of the last 6 possessions? Wow.

it got ugly, once BB got hurt, our team had big issues, I had to move off the line meaning that we were rushing an injured Chenault, and a new guy, thus we were not getting as much pressure. Our secondary was Treadway, Tom, (perfectly fine), me (who is not nearly as effective in the secondary as I am on the line, and a new guy.

So when we are rushing and not getting as much pressure, and have a depleted secondary, these things happen

I didn't realize that BB was that hurt and thought it happened relatively late (probably around the point that Red started to pull ahead, now that I think about it).

While I understand the secondary concerns, I would have continued to have you rush, Mark. You are such a difference maker in that regard that the pressure would have more than made up for coverage problems - especially since we were having so many drops today. A little more pressure and receivers wouldn't have had the chance to drop balls since they would have been off target. Also, sacks would have put Red having to work with bigger down-distances.

makes more sense now that you mention BB's injury. it seemed like we couldn't get a stop there in the last hour or so... that helps to explain some of it.

Mark Neubauer said...

It made sense to move me off the line. If I had stayed on the line, it would have meant our team had 2 new guys in coverage. Which would have meant that a new guy was trying to cover either Adam, Ziezer, Biscuits.

The decision our team made was the correct decision, after the BB came out, we simply did have the personnel needed to match up. No big deal, it just happens to work out that way sometimes.

My goal this week is to be a positive impact on the team especially offensively, I hope.

Slumdog

Don't worry - you'll get it together. I've had periods where I couldn't catch a cold. Just show up early and run some routes - people will practice with you. You'll find that people will offer help and tips. We want everyone to play well and have fun.

BTW, I thought your offensive line play was very good, particularly for a first timer.

Chris Treadaway said...

you still can't catch a cold

Unknown said...

you are right Treadaway, i couldnt catch a cold last week. All of that is about to change. I will be showing up early to practice.

Adam Leonard said...

He was referring to me

Chris Treadaway said...

Slumdog - you'll be fine. The conditions were rough Saturday... you were new... and you probably haven't been catching balls on the run like we have week after week.

Stick with it & bring your cleats ;-)

Mark Neubauer said...

If you need any help with anything, don't be afraid to ask Chenault. He is always willing to offer his opinion and help people to make sure everybody sees the game as he does.

Adam Leonard said...

A true fount, he is

Chris Treadaway said...

That would be Jason "CATCH IT!!!!!" Chenault.

It's so much easier to make a tough catch when a teammate screams at me right as the ball arrives.

Adam Leonard said...

No it's "Catch the Damn Ball!" Trust me, I know it well.
